Load up on guns, bring your friends... it's fun to lose and to pretend. She's over-bored and self-assured. Oh no, I know a dirty word.

Brother Battle

"Finally Luigi gets his revenge."

submission: Brother Battle
date: August 8, 2006

Haha, this actually turned out a lot better than I had expected after reading your summary. Although a relatively simple piece, it managed to be entertaining, funny, -and- cute. It didn't leave me feeling like it was too short or inadequate at the end, because you wrapped it up very nicely. The animation was crisp, and the sound was just fine. Also, I liked the theme that you explored with this (sibling rivalry). You have managed to cover all bases here. ;)

Light hearted and enjoyable, I can safely say that I hope to see more flash from you in the future.

The_Spirit_of The Samurai

"Capturing the spirit."

date: August 8, 2006

Though brief, I feel that what you lacked in length was made up for with the artistic quality that you displayed here. Interestingly enough, I also got an "anime" vibe from this. The light flash exposing the first samurai reminded me of Kenshin (from Rurouni Kenshin). I don't know if that was intentional, or accidental. Either way, it didn't subtract from what you were going for, which I feel is a personal vision of what the "Spirit of the Samurai" represents.

Fast and vibrant, strong animation and bold coloring -- I believe you captured the spirit pretty well. ;)

thank you...everything you say is true...

I regret that this is a short piece, but it's message is still present...

thanks for the kind review...

Chrono Mirror

"Hitting the funny bone."

submission: Chrono Mirror
date: August 8, 2006

I'm not sure if you were trying to hit the funny bone with this one, but I found this to be very amusing. Somewhere in the midst of two Crono's fighting each other without any discernable purpose, and scenes of blood spewing, it struck me as humorous.

Beyond that, you did well with making the fight sequence fluid between the Crono's. It wasn't dull or repetitive, as one would find in most sprite battles. With the perspective tricks I could see you were making sure this was a step up above the expected, and you succeeded with that. The only problem that I would have would be the scratchy music. The sound effects, though, I didn't mind (contrary to what others have said). I found them to be appropriate for what you were going for here; a random sprite clone war. ;)
